- Sliding bridge over the strait, about 40 m wide, between the mainland and Euboea. The tidal stream runs at up to 6 to 7 kn and turns several times a day; the bridge opens once a night at slack water between 22:00 and 04:00, the exact time being fixed only on the day. The route assumes the whole window.
- Since August 2025 only on the nights after Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Register with the Chalkida port authority during the day and pay the fee; from 21:00 listen on VHF 12: the port authority calls the yachts one by one five minutes before the opening.
