Notes
- Canal 6.3 km long, about 25 m wide at the waterline and 8 m deep, with submersible bridges at both ends (Poseidonia in the west, Isthmia in the east) that are lowered for passage. The fixed bridges above leave 52 m clearance.
- Operating continuously except Tuesdays 06:00 to 18:00 (maintenance). One-way traffic, yachts go after commercial vessels: call on VHF 11 at the entrance and wait to be called, often an hour or more. Subject to a fee, paid at the canal office at the east end (Isthmia).
- After landslides the canal was closed from November 2025 to 17 June 2026; check that it is operating before departure.
