Dybder (depths): Dybden i havnen er indtil 4,5 m. Ved kajerne: 3,0-4,5 m. Se i øvrigt plan.
Besejling (approach): Såvel ved anduvning som ved passage af Marstal Havn S-fra skal der holdes S og W om den fritliggende bølgebryder NE for indsejlingen til havnen. Et skib under indsejling til havnen ad Marstal Søndre Løb skal vente på et skib, der er under udsejling. Skibe under indsejling bør kontakte havnekontoret (tlf./VHF) for at sikre sig, at der ikke er skibe under udsejling. Skibe med dybgang over 4,2 m bør henvende sig til havnekontoret før anløb. Alle skibe med deplacement over 300 tons bør melde ankomst til havnekontoret. Aftale om skibspassage kan træffes med havnekontoret.
Vandstand (water level): Forskellen mellem middelhøjvande og middellavvande er 0,5 m. Storm fra NE og E kan give indtil 1,2 m højvande. Storm fra SE, S og SW kan give indtil 1,2 m lavvande.
Strøm (currents): Med uroligt vejr kan der være stærk strøm ved havneindløbet. N-gående strøm sætter over mod skibsværftet. Strømmen i Marstal Søndre Løb er som regel S-gående med S-lige til W-lige vinde med en fart af op til 3-4 knob under ekstreme forhold og N-gående med E-lige vinde.
Fartbegrænsning (speed limit): Max. 5 knob. Der må ikke opbygges nævneværdig hækbølge uanset fart.
Ressourcer (facilities): El ved kajerne samt alle broer i lystbådehavnen. Vand ved kajerne samt i lystbådehavnen. Brændstof fra tankvogn ved kajerne. Flere skibsværfter og motorfabrikker samt træskibsværft og to reparationsværfter. To beddinger, der kan tage skibe på indtil 67 m længde, 11 m bredde, 3,6 m dybgang og 500 tons vægt, samt en lille bedding for mindre fartøjer.
