- The only link for yachts between the Gulf of Fos and the Rhône: the mouth of the Grand Rhône is navigable only by small fishing boats.
- The lock is manned daily from about 05:00 to 21:00; pleasure craft are locked together with commercial vessels where possible. Fixed openings on the seaward side at 6:00, 8:15, 11:50, 16:15 and 18:45, on the Rhône side about 15 minutes later each time; if you arrive in between you may have to wait for the next one.
- Call on VHF channel 12 or 19 (coming from the Rhône) or phone +33 4 42 86 02 04; there may be a strong current when it opens.
