Rules on the lake
Völkermarkt Reservoir: The Völkermarkt Reservoir is a reservoir on the Drava; the Carinthian navigation regulation for the Drava reservoirs applies. Boats up to 12 kW with a four-stroke or electric motor are permitted (two-strokes only if they were already in use there before 2003), personal watercraft are not; at most 1000 such boats on all Drava reservoirs together. On the Völkermarkt Reservoir three motorboats are also allowed to support rowing. The areas marked with navigation signs are closed to every boat, among them the Völkermarkt Reservoir bird sanctuary, the Gurk backwater and the Linsendorf bend of the Drava.
