Clearing in: EU and Schengen: no formalities on the Danube at the border with Austria and Slovakia. Towards Serbia (outside Schengen) clear out at Mohács, coming from Serbia clear in there.
Documents: Certificate of competence (Hungarian licence, recognised foreign licence or ICC), boat papers, insurance.
Fees: Berths; on Lake Balaton the harbours' fees.
Fairway: Lake Balaton: combustion engines are prohibited; sailing boats may only use the auxiliary engine to enter and leave harbour. Storm warning from 1 April to 31 October with yellow flashing lights: 45 flashes per minute level I, 90 flashes per minute level II, when boat traffic is prohibited. Danube with current and commercial traffic.
Inland waters: All waters are inland waters.
Nature: Kis-Balaton and the Tihany peninsula as protected areas; do not navigate in the reed zones.
Emergency: 112; water police.
